The game’s primary title menus have all been translated sufficiently to allow efficient and intuitive navigation. San11_Eng.exe does not seem to modify any other game files, so other problems may be temporary, solved by restarting the system. Some users who have modified files in order to make the game run without the actual game disc have to launch the original game executable, San11.exe, and exit out, before the English-patched San11_Eng.exe will launch (otherwise it silently dies with no error).

We have heard of very few issues associated with the game patch so far, especially with a full unedited installation of the game to work with. To launch the game with English translations, play with the San11_Eng.exe file instead of San11.exe. Copy the San11_Eng.exe file to the same directory as your original San11.exe application file (do not delete the old file, you never know when you may need it).

Japanese/Chinese to English Patch for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI PUK ver. There is a lot of discussion over on Koei Warriors' ROTK13 forum thread that might interest you on this topic.English patches for the Japanese or Chinese PUK Version by Cao Shang. If you're a stickler for good AI, perhaps not. Overall, I've really enjoyed it and think it's worth it. You can also create custom items/specialties and custom strategies. You can create your own events now, I've sunk more hours into that than I care to admit. The part I've really dived deep into is Custom Events. That being said the battle AI is not improved. Fortifications were added and the morale system was updated to make it harder to have massive troop numbers take all of China with one long campaign. Stronger gates, elephants, stratagems, etc. That being said, I wouldn't count on it being any good.īattles have changed a fair amount.

In terms of ruler AI, I'm not entirely sure, I've played a lot as a free officer with force historical and historical events on. I didn't think I'd enjoy merchant, but merchant class is pretty cool. It might become more repetitive, but at this time it has not been for me. The prestige system acts as a career path and is pretty enjoyable. It's a large upgrade, the game feels filled out now. I've tried, there is still quite a bit of content I haven't got to. I was skeptical but I'm enjoying it so far. It feels like a legit expansion in weight, there's a lot of new stuff. It's also a $35 expansion instead of a separate release. RTK13FaS does add a few interesting systems. I think NASoIA diluted a great strategy game with mechanics that aren't useful. Having come from Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence Ascension, I think this PUK is a much better effort, and I'm glad we got it in the west. I think the things they add do contribute to the game. I liked RTK13 generally so I'm glad we got the expansion. The comerade and prestige systems let you customize the path your character takes in some minor ways.

The game will now generate spouses and children for you. It's possible to have something resembling a career as a free officer now. Domestic tasks are unchanged (though that's always the most boring part of the game, and you shouldn't be doing it personally if you want to get anything done). Duels and debates are now different from each other, but only barely more complex. I haven't found a use for the fortress/formation mechanics. The systems you use most (relationships, battles, duels, debates) have been overhauled. (It's possible with VII too, but the way the maps are set up, you'll need a bit of backup to keep things under control, and troop counts seem to matter more).Īs far as what it changes/adds, it definitely feels like a different game at a lot of points. I've played a lot of them, and of all the games VII+ I'd say any RTK after VII it is pretty easy to win if you're in control of a good officer. Though, I'd say most RTK games haven't had terribly strong AI when it comes to battles. In terms of AI, I can't rightly say it's improved.
